Social Media Etiquette...

Right, so the main focus of this is on LinkedIn. Quite frankly it's become somewhat of an annoyance. Why oh why have people forgotten that LinkedIn is a professional platform?! If I want to do a maths question or see a picture of cars I would just Google... LinkedIn is a professional networking platform!

 Yes, I post my blog, marketing articles and advertising things, but no I don't post selfies and all sorts of odd things! I think a LinkedIn connections cull might be in order... 

 The bad press that LinkedIn has received recently with it being used as a dating site etc is another fuel for this fire, let's leave that to Tinder shall we? So that's my opinion on the matter... Let me know your thoughts!

A few days ago I got tagged by The Beauty Type in a 5 things post, so here goes with mine. Looking after our Mental Health...

Following on from my 'Beating the January Blues' blog, I thought it was time to revisit how we all look after our mental health. For some reason this still seems to carry a stigma and be a bit of a taboo subject. All of us need to look after out own health and be aware of everyone around us too.  I asked my social media connections what they do to look after their mental health both in and out of the workplace, and here's what they said... In the workplace - Confide in someone you trust/work friend - Take the time to talk - Move away from the desk to make a cuppa or go for a walk Outside the workplace - Exercise, the main choices were running or going for a long walk - Getting outside to enjoy the fresh air - Meditation - Writing a journal For me, I focus very much on talking to my friends. #Saferinternetday

So today is Safer Internet Day 2015 , completely appropriate for a blog post! Luckily I am at the age where I am pretty savvy when it comes to staying safe online... but there are so many kids and even my peers who are targeted online and are sadly victims. Don't get my wrong, I know when I was younger I was on MSN and MySpace to friends of friends...but I knew not to give out any personal information etc. and my parents taught me to keep safe. The thing that annoys me the most is that social media sites barely react to complaints... For example, I have recently been followed by a lot of "adult content" twitter profiles (no idea why) and in order to delete theses, especially on my phone, I have to go onto the profiles to access the "block" button... ... Now, whilst that makes me feel slightly uncomfortable, image a child having to do that. It's so wrong and I think twitter needs to re-evaluate how to block someone when using their mobile app. ...
